It’s been quite a while since I last set foot in London. Between welcoming our second child, the whirlwind of school drop-offs and pick-ups, and running this Vintage Jewellery business I adore, international travel had taken a backseat. Since moving back to Australia from New York in 2017, life’s been full—but not particularly jet-set.
Now that my eldest, Grace, is 11, I decided it was time to show her a little more of the world. So, we packed our bags and headed off on a mother-daughter trip—part sightseeing and part sourcing mission.
London in February: A Chilly, Charming Reminder
I had honestly forgotten just how cold and grey London can be in February. If you're planning a similar trip, pack a very good coat, invest in a weekly Tube pass, and bring your comfiest walking shoes. For food on the go, you’re spoilt for choice with M&S food halls, Itsu Sushi, Pret a Manger, and Wagamama scattered across central London.
Surprisingly, the major tourist attractions were bustling—even in the middle of winter. The London Eye and Natural History Museum were packed, so if anything on your list requires a ticket, definitely book in advance!
The Real Reason I Came: Vintage Jewellery Treasure Hunting

While I loved showing Grace the sights, the heart of my trip was a visit to one of my all-time favourite vintage jewellery suppliers in London: the Accessories of Old warehouse in Parsons Green.
This hidden gem is a treasure trove of original vintage pieces—think 18ct gold and silver-plated beauties encrusted with Swarovski crystals, dating from the 1970s through the 1990s. Some boxes even held earlier, rarer finds. I spent two blissful days immersed in boxes and dusty trays, uncovering hidden gems and forgotten glories.
Here are just a few of the standout pieces I discovered..
Dripping in vintage charm, this 22kt gold-plated brooch gives off serious Jensen design vibes! Brooches are making a major comeback (especially overseas), and this piece is a must-have. With its sleek modernist feel and timeless elegance, it’s the perfect way to add a touch of retro sophistication to any outfit.

Designed with a comfortable clip-on fit, they’re perfect for adding a touch of vintage flair to your weekend adventures or a fun night out.

Every piece I brought back tells a story—not just of its era, but of this special trip with my daughter. There’s something magical about holding a piece of the past in your hands, and I’m so excited to share these new treasures with you. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be adding more finds to the shop, so keep an eye out for some truly special 70s through 90s vintage jewellery.
